This remodel and addition project involved converting an existing, single story 1 bed/1 bath home into a 2 story, duplex style beach house with each floor featuring its own private access and 1 bed/1 bath of interior living space. The exisiting home was a 1 bed/1 bath at ground level and we added the 2nd floor with a large balcony that captures great views of the surf. The new balcony also now serves as a carport and storage, but is designed to be later converted into more 1st floor living space.
The addition allows the owner to capitilize on his investment by being able to live in one unit while renting the other, or rent both units to separate guests when not in town.
The addition of the 2nd floor and large deck more than doubled the homes size and ability to generate vacation rental income!
